About me

Benjamin Ootjers

35 years old, born and raised in Diemen. With a lifelong interest in computers and technology — that passion ultimately led to an IT education and study, and starting BennIT in 2014.

Besides my work as a tech entrepreneur, I am an active volunteer firefighter at Diemen Fire Station and a professional firefighter at Amsterdam Fire Department. Due to rotating shift schedules, I always work by appointment — no fixed opening hours, but quickly reachable.

Do you also come to my home or office?

Yes, we always come on-site when necessary. BennIT is active in Diemen and the surrounding area, including Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Ouder-Amstel. Book an appointment via the contact form or send a WhatsApp message.

Which devices do you repair?

We repair laptops, desktops, smartphones and tablets from almost all brands — including Apple (MacBook, iPhone, iPad), Samsung, Lenovo, HP and Dell. Not sure? Just get in touch.

How quickly can you come?

We aim to be available within 24 to 48 hours. In urgent cases a solution is often possible sooner — send a WhatsApp message for the fastest response.

What does an appointment or repair cost?

We work with a fair pricing policy. If a repair is carried out after investigation, the investigation costs are included in the repair price — you only pay the repair costs. If no repair is performed, the investigation costs are charged. Always a clear quote upfront, never any surprises afterwards.

Do you also install smart home systems and security cameras?

Yes. From IP cameras and NVR security systems to complete smart home integrations with lighting, thermostat, blinds and voice control via Google Home or Apple HomeKit. We design, install and configure everything.

Do you also install Home Assistant and Zigbee?

Yes — this is one of our specialities. Home Assistant is the most powerful local smart home platform: privacy-friendly, works offline and connects almost any device. We install the complete system including Zigbee network, automations and an energy dashboard.

What is UniFi and why is it better than a regular router?

UniFi (by Ubiquiti) is professional wifi equipment normally used in offices and hotels. We also install it at home: better coverage, more stable connection, central management interface and easy to expand. Ideal for remote workers, gamers or anyone who wants reliable internet in every corner of their home.

Is BennIT an officially registered company?

Yes, BennIT is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 61334286 and has been active since 2014.
